In a ceremony held on March 13, 1931 at Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Preserve, Phillips Petroleum Company founder Frank Phillips was adopted as an honorary member of the Osage Nation. Given the name Hulah Kihe-kah (Osage for "Eagle Chief"), Phillips was the first white man ever to receive the honor of being inducted into the tribe, and he would later describe the ceremony as one of his proudest moments. Osage County is full of amazing history – Pay us a visit to experience some of it for yourself!
